Assessment and Analytics
We are experts in assessment and analytics. We have learned from experience that failure to assess and analyze is failure to effectively manage and lead. We are keen on assessment and analytics because we know that the clarity generated from assessment is absolutely needed to make informed decisions, and is crucial in avoiding continued investment in the unknown. Without assessment and analytics leaders and managers are operating in the dark, and blind to the often urgent need for adaptation.
A rigorous assessment of systems, processes, projects and programs weaponizes a leader or manager against such blindness and prevents operating in the dark. Our assessment identifies and then incorporates the unique aspects of your culture and context into our proprietary design; and it generates analytics providing you with the clarity you must have to make informed decisions about the effectiveness of a project, program, process, or system; whether it should be sustained; or, if it needs to be adapted, transformed, and even scrapped.
A leader or manager doesn’t need a graduate degree to know analytics is vital to prevent managing in the dark.
At Discovery Northwest we are passionate about leadership! We know you are likely to be as well, considering American companies of all sizes spend an estimated $166 billion a year on leadership development (LD). We are committed to producing effective leaders at all organizational levels. It is a core mission for us. We will support your LD initiatives in several different effective ways.
One of the ways we do this, that we highly recommend, is developing analytics for you that enable you to have clarity about whether your current leadership development program (LDP) is actually producing leaders. Research tells us that many companies do not know this fundamental, yet crucial information. That is why we recommend that we first conduct a comprehensive LDP assessment, providing you with the analytics required for clarity about your LD efforts. Such clarity about whom or what is being developed, how your development is happening, and whether your development efforts are actually producing leaders, is vital for making informed decisions about your program’s future effectiveness. We will design a custom LDP for you based on the evidence obtained from our rigorous analytics; or we will provide your internal HR and OD professionals with the means for developing and managing your own effective LDP, by equipping them with a comprehensive framework, through certification in our Leadership Development Training Strategist (LDTS) program.
You can say that after three decades of combined experience developing team training curriculum, successfully training team leaders; and effectively creating, developing, leading, and sustaining numerous high performance teams, that we wrote the book on team development; or at least a few chapters. We know teams! Put our expertise to work for you by enlisting Discovery Northwest in your team development process.
We will support your team initiatives in many different effective ways. We will conduct a comprehensive team effectiveness assessment providing you with the analytics you absolutely need to have clarity about team performance; how and why performance is or is not happening for you; and whether your team development efforts are actually producing effective teams. We will design a custom team architecture for you based on the evidence obtained from our rigorous analytics; or we will provide your internal HR and OD professionals with our comprehensive framework so you can create and sustain your own high performing teams by certifying them in our Team Development Training Strategist (TDTS) program.
Learning and Development
We consider learning and development (L&D) a vital Organizational Development strategy and strategic priority. We know after decades of practice in complex academic and business environments that organizations who fail to invest adequately in L&D find competitiveness through innovation, creativity, learning, change, and even productivity much more challenging than their competitors who do make it a priority. We also know that many organizations approach L&D in a manner that fails to optimize results. The literature on L&D reflects dissatisfaction and disappointment with results. This is understandable given that many companies don’t effectively assess the impact of their L&D initiatives and also simply hand-off or assign the L&D function to existing HR or OD personnel who lack the expertise and even fundamental understanding of learning to effectively develop, manage or measure this critical initiative.
We will support this critical initiative by conducting a comprehensive L&D assessment providing you with the analytics you need to have clarity about effectiveness and impact; how and why learning transfer is or is not happening for you; and whether your L&D efforts are actually empowering employees with new skills that can be transferred, applied, and measured. We will design a custom L&D architecture for you based on the evidence obtained from our rigorous analytics; or we can provide your internal HR and OD professionals with our comprehensive framework so you can create and sustain your own high performing L&D function, by certifying them in our Lean Learning and Development Strategist (LLDS) program.
